About Cingari Family Markets

For the Cingari’s, food means family. In 1929, food became the family business when Salvatore Cingari bought an old school bus, loaded it with fresh produce, and started delivering door-to-door in Stamford, CT. Nearly 100 years later, there are now 12 Cingari Family ShopRite locations throughout Connecticut. The times have changed, but our commitment to fresh, local products, excellent customer service, and affordable prices, has remained.

Our History

For over four generations, our family has been serving the families of Connecticut. After operating for nearly 60 years as Grade A Markets, we joined ShopRite – the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States, in 1991. The Cingari Family now owns and operates 12 ShopRite locations throughout Connecticut. Whether in-store or giving back to the communities we live and work in, our priority is always you.
